My [new] studio

Recently I moved my studio from an upstairs bedroom to the basement. Then from one room in the basement to another. That's right - two moves. Yuck.

I originally moved downstairs to have more room and because it is a lot cooler. It can get really hot with the iron on for most of the day. Especially when it is 90 degrees and humid outside. I loved my new space [and much nicer temperature] but there was just not enough light and it made it incredibly difficult to sew and match threads and such. So I made another move, to another room, and I couldn't be happier :D

There is plenty of room and a lot more natural light. I absolutely love how everything fits in the space. I set up a new shipping station, which has made sending off packages a breeze. Most of all, I am just happy to be settled and have a spot where I am super productive. Now I just need to decorate and put up an inspiration board for fall :)

What is new in your studio lately?

  1. Well I just moved my craft space to the basement as well :) And, pretty much everything is new right down to the sewing machine, I had to replace the old one.

Yours looks great and happy that it is working out for you :D Hope you get that inspiration board going!

  3. That looks so neat! Are you hiding a messy corner?? I have recently put up two shelves and added a table in my studio area. It's still pretty messy though. I also added shelving in my closet space. It's a working progress.

  4. Looks good...all nicely laid out. I'm with you on the iron making a room hot. My sewing room is upstairs and with that iron on for long periods of time...sheesh...it really gets warm!

I don't envy you having to move twice, there's always so much stuff, but feeling comfy and having the right light is soooo important!!
